Who am I voting for?

One of the true pleasures of this campaign has been getting know all of the other candidates. Through the events, large and small, where we have appeared together, I’ve had a chance to talk to each of them and learn their perspectives on the issues facing Albany and their take on the role and function of the City Council.

While I respect all of the candidates, and believe the city will be well-served no matter who is elected, I believe that the most progress will be made on the issues that matter most to my supporters if I am elected along with Peggy Thomsen and Michael Barnes.

Peggy Thomsen has a long history with the city government, and is incredibly astute and insightful Council Member. She is very impressive in person and on the Council, and she understands the importance of balance in decisions and being a tough negotiator on the way to a compromise. I invite you to visit her website for more information:

Michael Barnes served on the School Board from 2002 to 2006 and is a science editor and writer at UC Berkeley. He brings a keen mind and scientific perspective to decisions. He shares my pragmatic perspective on issues and solutions — what matters in decision making is the quality of the arguments and results more than ideology or a specific agenda. He is a prominent poster on Albany Patch, and also has a website:
